Subject Description: In the second part Nakamura Tomijuro I appears as Nagoya Osan, who seeks to avenge the murder of her father, Nagoya Saburozaemon. She spends every evening cormorant fishing in the Gifu River, and is overjoyed when her father's precious sword Narataro is brought up from the river in the beak of one of the cormorants. Here Tomijuro I poses triumphantly on the bank of the Gifu River, holding up a torch as the cormorant fishermen did to attract their catch. Thrust through the actor's sash is the sought-for sword.
