Context: Juin, or June, served as part of the first collection of Schumacher and Company fabrics created by a major designer. It sparked a trend of design partnerships largely responsible for the fabric company's renown. Schumacher grew to incorporate work by decorators, architects, and artists of the likes of Dorothy Draper, Barondess MacLean, and Frank Lloyd Wright. The initial line, created by contemporary French artist Paul Poiret, combined innovation with replication. Juin, a dynamic floral, is representative of Poiret's design sense, originally touted by the company as "bold, his interpretations personal, his colorations powerful yet delicate."
